This is my first post on this blog. As you guessed, I love food. I love cooking food, I love eating food, I love smelling food and I like looking at food. I just love everything about food. It completes my life.
Anyway, yesterday I went to have lunch with my cousin and parents. We went to a restaurant called Escape and it's at Red Rock Haven Hotel & Spa in the beautiful island of Dominica (no, not the Dominican Republic). I had a meal complete with starter, main course and dessert. It was such a good meal! It was actually better than I expected.
First, I'll start off with my drink. I had a glass of passionfruit juice.

It was very obviously made from syrup and not fresh but it was still very nice. My mother described it as "poison" because she said it was too sweet. (She actually said this right in front of the waitress LOL.) But I thought it was very nice, but that might be because I like sweet stuff. :P Because maybe I thought that, I asked my cousin and she thought it tasted good too so I thought it must just be my mother being crazy, per usual.
Then we had some sweet potato fries.
I'll tell you this now, it's not sweet, at all. I thought it was quite dry actually. I had never tasted it before so it was a new experience for me. A sauce came with it which I'm still not quite sure what it was. It seemed to have a garlic taste and was quite tangy. I didn't really like the fries on its own but it did taste edible with the sauce. Everyone else on the table liked it so if you're put off by my review, try them and see if you like them.
Now for my main course. The best part of the meal. Well, this meal. :D I had Chicken Green Curry. Which was divine.
I was so hungry and it really did hit the spot. It was very well presented as well. You know when you go to a fancy restaurant and the food is put on the plate really fancily but there's hardly any food there? Well thankfully this was NOT the case. There was a decent amount of food which did fill me up but it was so good I could have eaten a whole other plate! The curry was very light, lighter than normal curry which was very nice. I thought it needed a bit of salt but that's probably just me since I like salt too much. :P The chicken was very well cooked, not under or overcooked, it was just right, and thankfully it didn't have any bones. :) The rice was the same way. It was cooked to perfection, nice and fluffy!
Lastly, I had Chocolate and Banana Ice Cream. Well everyone else did and I tasted it. I really don't like banana so I thought I wouldn't bother wasting money by ordering it.
When I tasted it, it was way too banana flavoured for my taste. It basically tasted like banana ice cream with an after taste of chocolate. Not for me. But apparently, the cheapest way to make ice cream is to put bananas in the freezer until they're almost frozen and then put a little bit of milk and blend it together. If you want Chocolate ice cream, you just add cocoa powder. So I'm guessing that is what they did here.
So here you have it, a full meal review. :) I hope you like it. And please follow me!
